Did I ever tell you how BRAVE I think our Kaitlyn is?
Back on November 20th, Kaitlyn took part in an all day Cello Workshop offered to orchestra students in schools around the whole valley, ranging in ages from beginning cellist... 4th graders to college students. It was one day of special instruction from orchestra symphony teachers and such. They divided up the students by their knowledge and skill level and this group of students learned 3 new songs that day and then performed a concert for us... their families at the end of the day.
It was pretty impressive! It was cool to hear an all cello orchestra performance.
We were so proud of Kaitlyn's bravery to attend all by herself. She didn't know one person. She had fun and made some new friends and learned a couple new songs that were definitely challenging. Can you see Kaitlyn in the pic above? we were pretty far back in the auditorium and my camera has a crappy zoom. The stage light is shining brightly on her pretty face.
Zooming in a little closer! Kaitlyn patiently waiting for her turn to play. :)
Turns out we did know one person at the CELLOBRATION workshop after all.
Kaitlyn.... meet your new friend Rylee and Rylee meet Kaitlyn :)
Our friends... Justin & Larissa Richardson happened to call out our names as we arrived at the school just in time for the concert. "Hey what are you doing here?" but of course their Rylee plays the Cello too. It was fun to sit by them.
Justin is Leonard's really good friend and co-worker. We have been meaning to get our families together and have our kids meet. We finally got to meet one Richardson sweetie! Hooray! Can't wait to meet the other 2 some day... hint hint ;)
These 2 cute cellist did a beautiful job today! We are so proud of you! Thank you for working so hard and sharing your beautiful talent with us.
