On Saturday Nov. 14th it was time for another Zito Family Adventure. It was a beautiful cool day and so we headed over to Pagago Park in Phoenix to do a little hiking and have a picnic.
This is a easy short trail to Hole in the Rock at Papago Park! The kids were excited to climb the stairs :)

PB & J sandwiches and sun chips kind of picnic! Papago Park has great picnic areas! We were the only ones enjoying some lunch before we ventured to the Phoenix Zoo.
We have a Zoo Membership and this trip was FREE!!! So we splurged and rented one of these SWEET Bikes to cruise around the zoo. I have ALWAYS wanted to try it so we spent $18 for a hour of fun! :) It was fun and ONE TOUGH Workout too :) I forget about all the hills at the zoo! But Leonard and I are tough! No big deal :)
I loved seeing the zoo this way. We didn't stop and wander around. It was all business on the bike :) We looped the zoo a couple times and pointed to the animals as we passed by. It was really fun! although Leonard & I both agreed this bike could use some gears and some Carbon Fibre. :)
These are the only ANIMAL pictures I got this visit! Not the best, but we have all been to the zoo before. You can imagine the giraffes and lions and turtles :)
We loved our family adventure at the Zoo! We want to try the paddle boats next time and then check out the sting ray tank and the new komodo dragon exhibit! If you are feeling adventurous next time you visit the zoo, rent one of these babies! Just beware of CLUELESS zoo-goers who walk right in front of a 500 pound bike moving full steam ahead :)

That is a cool place! I love that your kiddos are old enough to do hikes and long outings...awesome pics! And blake is so cute with all his balloons....I loved his "Hi" to me today....
definitely fun! I think the bike though may have weighed about 800lbs...with a single speed! Those hills were tougher than riding up to canyon lake :)
What a great idea - fun family outing, education, workout - all in one! Those kids are really growing - myabe I will be brave enough to let pappy bring me to Arizona in the trailer to see them. I will really have to take long slow breaths, but just maybe...
I have rented a bike just like the one you guys had and it is a tough work out! Looks like you guys had a great day! You have such cute kids!
