Happy Anniversary to Us!!

Yesterday Sunday December 21st, Leonard and I celebrated 12 years of wedded bliss. I can't believe we've been married a dozen years already. Wow!!! It has been a wonderful 12 years. I sure am a lucky girl to have Leonard for my husband. He is everything to me. He makes me laugh. He makes me feel safe. He tells me I am beautiful. He looks forward to coming home to me everyday. He loves my hugs and kisses. He is my inspiration. He is a wonderful father to our 3 children. He is encouraging. He is a hard worker. He is kind, thoughtful & loving. What can I say!!! I picked the best one out there! He is my MR. GALAXY!!!

Funny Thing....

Our parents told us not to plan a December wedding because it was too close to Christmas and we would never celebrate our anniversary like we would want and I will admit they were right. With all the hustle and bustle of getting ready for Christmas, we have not gone our anniversary cruise to Hawaii for 12 years in a row in December like we would love to do. But even though we don't go on BIG and EXTRAVAGANT get aways for our anniversary, I still feel it is a special time to reflect about the happiest day of my life. This year I wanted to go to the temple with my sweet Lenny and we did. It was so nice, so peaceful. We were able to do sealings and remember the promises and covenants we agreed keep when we were sealed for eternity 12 years ago. I was so happy! It was a lovely evening together!

So as I was reminiscing about our years together I found this poem written by one of my good friends from high school. She gave it to us for a wedding gift. I love it and it makes me laugh. I had it framed and it hung on our wall for years. I have it in a scrapbook now. I thought it would be fun to share it.

It was a Sunday at church

When Loree saw this guy;

"I just have to meet him,"

She thought with a sigh.

They were introduced and

They started to talk;

Loree knew she liked him!

She liked him a lot!

Leonard asked her to go fishing

And she said "Sure I guess;"

But inside she was screaming,

"YES YES YES YES!"

He was impressed with her braveness

When she hooked her own bait;

But Loree wasn't after fish

When she went on that date.

"Leonard is a much better catch"

Loree thought with a grin;

And Leonard didn't struggle

When she reeled him in.

The phone bills were high

And the miles were long;

But Loree knew that with Leonard

she couldn't go wrong.

She loved his hazel eyes

And his terrific smile;

She loved his spirit

And his awesome style.

At the Idaho Falls Temple

Leonard gave her a ring;

Loree was so happy

She wanted to sing!

Leonard told her he loved her

More than life;

And he wanted Loree

To be his eternal wife.

In the Arizona Temple

They were sealed together;

And be a family

That will last forever.
